Yorkies can start wearing collars once they’ve learned to walk calmly and obediently on a leash. It’s essential to ensure they’re trained not to pull or lunge, as their small size and delicate necks make them more susceptible to injury from sudden movements. The key is that they’re comfortable and know how to walk politely on a leash before transitioning to a collar. Start with short, supervised sessions to help them get used to the collar gradually, ensuring a safe and positive experience for your Yorkie.
